Phishing Security
New Phishing Message Targeting Executives
Please be aware that there is a new phishing message making the rounds that targets executives in a variety of fields and industries. The phishing attempt uses fake Microsoft 365 (formerly known as Office 365) password expiration notifications, which direct the user to a fake Microsoft 365 site in which the user is asked to change their Microsoft 365 password. Once those credentials are entered, the compromised accounts can be used to send out more phishing emails, or collect sensitive information. That information is usually also offered for sale via phishing sites on the normal and dark webs.
A screenshot of the phishing message is below. If you receive a message like this, and you are not sure if it is authentic or a phishing attempt, forward it to the Helpdesk at helpdesk@copyquality.com and we will determine its authenticity.
